Papakōlea Subdivision Sewer Improvements

MIRA sequenced the upgrades to keep service running for the neighborhood, replacing failing pipe and improving the sewer network while working carefully within a close-knit community.

The challenges

Rainy conditions made excavation difficult, and much of the work sat on slopes that raised the stakes for crew safety and required careful shoring and erosion control.
A large share of the work took place in residents' yards, so day-to-day community coordination was essential to keep neighbors informed and comfortable.
