Keolu Drive Channel Emergency Stabilization Project

MIRA Image got contracted by the City and County of Honolulu to temporarily stabilize the slope embankment along the existing Keolu Drive channel. This job is currently still in progress.

The main problem we encountered at Keolu is the water flow and having to adapt around it. Debris had to be cleared and a drain system needed to be added to push water away from the job site. Our machines weren’t able to reach where excavating needed to be done so all digging needed to be done by hand and a conveyor belt needed to be installed, pushing the dirt up the slope and into a bin. By doing so it made working conditions a little easier and safer for MIRA.
